Large Family Garden
Client Brief:
To transform this large new garden into specific areas for the children to play and areas for the parents to relax and entertain! The client also required a water irrigation system for all the container plants and lighting for the new landscaped areas.Solutions:
The garden was an unusual shape but once the main areas and the paths had been sketched-in a design based on curves and circles took shape and this allowed the softening of the angular garden and the main path provided a natural link using paviours to all areas. The use of paviours, normally associated with driveways allows for a more modern feel in harmony with the new build house and allows for all the circles and curves. The circular seat area has been enhanced with solid oak timber uprights, oiled to match the teak bench and may in time be used to support climbing plants.
The front garden was also cleared of plants ( Developers standard groundcover variety! ) and a Mediterranean feel was adopted at the clients request and provides a fine sun-trap by day and the irrigation system ensures all the plants remain watered especially during holiday breaks.
